Internet-accessible versions of ISI’s Citation Indexes: Science Citation Index, Social Science Citation Index, and Arts and Humanities Index. Provides the most current index to over 8000 of the world’s leading scholarly research journals in the sciences, social sciences, and arts & humanities. Has a unique “cited reference” feature to find articles that have cited a given article. Includes abstracts for many of the articles. Pre-1977 citations can be used as the starting point for citation searches, but there are no displayable records for pre-1977 citations. Although Web of Science is primarily a database of journal citations, “cited materials” may be books, dissertations, government reports, in press articles, or any other material.
